Every year, on the first day of winter, the dead walked in Eidolon Cove. They came not as shadows or restless phantoms, but as flesh and breath, under a pale and watchful sun. At dawn, the graveyard gates swung open, and those who had passed in the last decade returned — if only until dusk.
